Gideon Haigh – don’t give up the day job

#ashes #cricket For a man who is consistently named as the World’s Greatest Living Cricket Writer, and who has two books so far in the Times’ list of the 50 greatest sports books of all time, Gideon Haigh is rubbish at predictions.

In December’s Wisden Cricketer, he reckoned Australia would win at Brisbane in the first Test, ‘an underprepared England succumbing to Hilfenhaus’.

He went on to say that the final score would be 2-2. If Australia come back to draw this series, I will eat my England replica sunhat.
