The nervous nineties

So, will it ever happen? For the third consecutive match, a Gloucestershire batsman gets into the nineties, but fails to reach three figures.

In fact, this time there were two – Alex Gidman and James Franklin. Gidman (below) was out for 99 in the previous match against Leicestershire, and Franklin was left stranded on 92 against Surrey.

So no century all season, but maybe Gloucestershire don’t need them. Tonight, they must be confident of a fourth successive Championship win after finishing the first day against Glamorgan on 303-5.
